OUR HISTORY

 

Grace Missionary Baptist Church was organized May 10, 1984 in the home of Rev. John Denton Murdock, Sr. on Segrest Drive in Houston, TX.  Rev. Murdock was installed as Pastor of Grace by his pastor, Rev. O.L. Hughes.  There were 25 members when the church was first organized.  Pastor Murdock added to his pastoral staff Rev. R.L. Alston as his assistant pastor where he remained until he was promoted to glory.  Continued growth caused a need to move to our first building at 4315 Shelby Circle.  As God continued to bless the membership we began new construction of a building on the property which was completed and ready for occupancy in 2002.

Pastor Murdock remained the pastor until September 2013 when he chose Rev. Robert C. Jamerson, Sr. as his successor.
